Dark Castle collab with Fantasy Foundation

Fantasy literature may not be mainstream in Taiwan, but it has been gaining popularity, especially through games, movies or other types of media adapted from fantasy literature. Many popular works were introduced to boardgame as well, such as Lord of the Ring, Game of Thrones and Dungeon and Dragons are all well loved by gamers around the world.

We were very honored to invited to collaborate with Fantasy Foundation, the leading fantasy literature publishing house, in 2014. To provide fantasy readers an introduction to boardgames, we recommended 30 classic fantasy themed games. Through extensive research and writing, Crazed Boardgames finally came out in 2016. Along with the book we also deigned a Dark Castle as a companion game to the book.

Dark Castle is a 2-player light strategy game. With one playing the Raven Lord and the other playing the Brave. They may move around the cloister to collect magic stones to control the five towers or use grimoires to cast powerful magic to interfere with the opponent.

Although Dark Castle started as just a companion to the book, it has gained popularity through out the world. In 2017 EmperorS4 will expend the game to a 2-4 player game, allowing more player the enjoy the Dark Castle together.
